Skradin is a small town in the county of Šibenik-Knin. It is located on one side of the river Krka and precisely near the access to the National Park of Krka; nearby there are Šibenik and Split.
One of the interesting features of this place is that it is surrounded by clean water, in fact, it is drinking water: this location has no salt water like the rest of Croatia. Tranquillity and cleanlines scharacterize its port: one of the most beautiful coast of Croatia.
Skradin is a delight even for some of the most famous people in the world, Microsoft founder, Bill Gates. He stated that since he discovered Skradin, he fell in love with it, and he has a particular fondness for its harbour, so that he said in Forbes magazine that it is one of his favourite places for vacation and he visits it every year.
In the bigger picture of the city, there is a church of the eighteenth century, whose bell tower is 20 m above the ground. There is also the Orthodox Church of St. Spyridon, St. Peter and St. Jerome.
Previously, the population of Skradin was devoted mostly to plant olive trees, vineyards and fruit trees. Today people still practice traditional agriculture and, thanks to the special waters of the bay, the breeding of fish and mussels is common too.
It is a small city and its streets are narrow, the delicious cuisine and the popular white wine enchant visitors and make them come back. If you reach Skradin with a boat, you will pass through the channel of the river Krka and it will be a unique experience that no one could ever take from you.
The modern marina has 200 berths. As for accommodation, you can rent private rooms, apartments and, of course, hotel rooms. Beautiful beaches and parks surround the place. And for those who love the magic of nature in solitude, there are some beaches where the only occasional visitors are swans.
Skradin is an unforgettable destination in the path of our gulet.
