Primošten is a small town – but very beautiful and irresistible to anyone visiting the Adriatic coast with the intention of discovering its famous magic – which is located between Šibenik and Split. Primošten is located on an island connected to the mainland by a bridge, in fact, the name Primošten comes from the Croatian word “primostit”, which means “connected to the bridge”. This town has gradually developed into a place of rest renowned by summer vacationers and it offers something special for everyone.
The site includes a very picturesque village, a tourist village and a port, and its natural characteristics protect it well against the north winds. The population main business is in the cultivation of grapes, olives, fishing and tourism.
In the bay, there are two large beaches and from one of the beaches, while enjoying the water of the Adriatic, you can see a couple of small islands. The town is full of narrow streets as it is typical of several villages on the coast of Croatia; the hotels are mainly located in the south. It is worth mentioning that there is also a nudist beach called Smokvica. Celebrations and moments of great fun occur in the summer.
Sailors know about Primošten with the name of “The dry” because it knows long periods of drought.
